About Me



    By most people's standards (and by 'most people', I mean 'my husband'), I am a terrible cook.  But that's probably just because I choose to create dishes with a unique flambe flavor that 'most people' stubbornly pigeon-hole as 'burned'.

   Although I am a terrible cook, I am a fantastic baker.  If it involves sugar and fat, I'm interested in re-creating it.

   Most of what I've learned about baking has come from what I've read and taught myself over the last few years.  I've tried hundreds of recipes and subjected my family to dozens of baking tragedies, but -- in the process -- have discovered some important techniques and easy shortcuts.  I've found recipes that are nearly no-fail and taste fantastic.  And I've figured out how to recreate them in a way that doesn't require me to spend an entire day in the kitchen.


  I like to think June would have been proud.
